According to the New York State Department of
Environmental Conservation, New York's waters offer over 45
species of game and panfish. This diversity provides anglers
with plenty of fishing opportunities. Smallmouth, largemouth,
& striped bass, walleye, trout, salmon, northern pike,
muskellunge, bullheads, yellow perch and crappie are just a
few of the more popular fish species available.
The settings New York offers are as diverse as our fish.
From pristine Adirondack ponds, legendary Catskill streams,
Great Lakes, Finger Lakes and thousands of miles of rivers and
streams are all accessible to interested anglers.
North River offers interested parties, from novice to
expert, instruction and access to some of the best fishing the
northeast can offer.

"First Catch of Spring"
Herb caught this nice 6 lb striped bass just after the start
of the season. A fish finder rig with a circle hook and
bloodworm proved successful on this trip. This early season
fish, a harbinger of the bigger fish soon to come,
was caught just south of the Tappan Zee bridge.
The fish was released just after the photo.
"Hot Morning Surprise"
On an unusually hot and muggy August
morning, Matt was targeting pan fish in the Moodna Creek in
Cornwall, NY. To his surprise, a nice brown trout took
his fly.
The fish was successfully released after
the photo.
